Near Earth Autonomy is looking for engineers eager to create a future where autonomous aircraft are commonplace and safe. Our technology enables aircraft ranging in scale from sub-meter to full scale to autonomously inspect, map, survey, and transport. Responsibilities and Duties
Robotics engineers at Near Earth implement and deploy robotic systems for aerial mobility and inspection applications. As a generalist, you will be called upon to develop a variety of aspects of the system, with duties such as:
Implementing methods and algorithms for robotic sensing, perception, planning, navigation, guidance, and control;
Supporting the creation of system functional architectures based on user requirements, documenting system design;
Creating test plans and conducting system testing, including hands-on work with robotic systems in field deployments; and
Presenting results to company staff and to customers.

In the course of these duties, you will learn much about creating complete robotics systems. You may discover an interest in developing algorithms in one of the above domains and choose to grow your career in that direction; or become a system architect and developer; or remain as a generalist, preferring to maintain a broad background and skill set.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
Skills to develop and adapt perception, motion planning, state estimation, or control algorithms for robotic systems;
Programming in C++ in a Linux environment;
Programming in the Robot Operating System (ROS) framework (preferred);
Lidar sensors, cameras, and inertial navigation systems;
Software engineering practices and software development life cycle;
Field testing of robotic systems.
