Kelley Direct Programs is the home of online graduate business degrees at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, including the online MBA and specialized online M.S. degree programs. Current M.S. degree programs include finance, strategic management, entrepreneurship and innovation, marketing, global supply chain management, and business analytics. The online MBA and MS programs were ranked #1 in 2019 by U.S. News & World Report.
Advises graduate level business students in an online environment. Advises incoming and continuing students to assist them in meeting their academic goals. Assists in academic planning choices by recommending strategies, courses, and planning priorities. Interprets school policies and procedures. Responds to inquiries from administrators, faculty, staff, students, and other academic units. Refers students to appropriate departmental or school personnel for further information on specific programs, career choices, and support services. Participates in, and assists with, the design and delivery of specific assigned experiential courses and co-curricular programs. Examples include population-specific webinars, networking events, and global and domestic immersion courses. Communicates with prospective students, current students, faculty, and visitors by telephone, e-mail and in person. Manages current student registrations, acts as liaison between students and University offices, and generates reports for Kelley Direct Chairs, Executive Director, and Directors. Reviews applications for graduation, performs degree audits, and certifies student records.
Note: Work hours include some evening availability (1-2 evenings a week) and occasional Saturday availability (4-6 times a year).
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education, or Business and two years of experience in student affairs, teaching, academic advising, or other related field.
Combinations of education and related experience may be considered.
Above average communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities. Close attention to detail and high degree of accuracy. Ability to master complicated information about the Kelley online MBA and MS degrees, policies, and procedures. Ability to adapt when changes are made.
Master's degree. IU advising experience. Working knowledge of IU systems, such as the SIS and learning management systems.
