TD Testing and Quality Assurance (QA) covers a specialized area dedicated to high-quality application and solution delivery. Similar to industry trends, TD's definition of this area of discipline (as well as skill and knowledge requirements) has changed over time. One thing hasn't changed - experts in this area remain highly-marketable across businesses.
Some of our testing activities may focus on system integration, business acceptance, performance, operability and deployment verification. Quality Assurance activities, in contrast, give stakeholders information about product or service quality while allowing the business to appreciate and understand any implementation risks. Many Testing & QA Experts could be involved in end-to-end delivery of testing, or more focused on a specific discipline.

About This Role
You will be responsible for the build and delivery of the Release Management practice focused on planning product features into a roadmap together with business product owners, grouping the features into releases, and managing component dependencies throughout delivery of in-flight releases across all environments, ensuring that testing and business acceptance are completed, and production delivery is successful for Canadian Banking, Data and Customer Assistance Technology Services.
Manage/oversee test team in the delivery of test planning,preparation and test execution activities in adherence to standards for system testing
Accountable for all phases of testing for a project or release including (but not limited to) system integration testing, business acceptance testing, performance testing, operability testing, and deployment verification testing
Ensure the effective coordination of test planning and support, with required partners in the Business, CIO group, Infrastructure etc.
Oversee creation of testing strategies, plans and project documentation using risk analysis methodologies and tools, aligning with development approach selected for the project
Manage creation, review and sign-off of testing documentation (e.g. test strategies, plans, schedule, cost estimates, test cases, dashboards, defect logs) and ensure all test artifacts adhere to testing standards and audit requirements
Understand and communicate testing impact of scope changes/project change requests to the PM team both from a timeline/cost and a risk perspective
Participate in test case creation and test case execution to ensure test teams meet project timelines. Manage and support the team in creating reusable test assets for manual and automated test scripts
Oversee/chair the daily defect/status calls to ensure defects are documented and tracked and defect fixes are retested in timely manner. Report the status of test planning, test execution and defects via. daily dashboard reporting to project team using standard test quality metrics
Develop/manage operational processes that are consistent across portfolio,ensure QA processes are incorporated in overall technology delivery practices and standards
Manage the integrated intake/demand/schedule. Periodically perform risk assessments; communicate and negotiate testing timelines, budget, staffing, scope and critical milestones with project managers
Manage business partner relationships to build knowledge of business, applications and corresponding IT applications
Act as a consultant to other areas of IT and the Business; promote awareness of testing methodologies and standards
Accountable for team adherence to prescribed testing processes, ensuring timely notification of issues/problems, review escalated risks and issues, work with stakeholders to develop contingency plans, resolve risks, and escalate further as necessary
Ensure testing is conducted in a manner that does not impact the production environment (e.g. scheduling of file transmissions, etc) and in accordance with established information security, information privacy policies and guidelines
Implement quality, operational, and service management processes and ensure adherence to the processes
Provide testing estimates, estimate revisions for costs and resources,track financial actuals against provided estimates and provide forecasts to appropriate stakeholders
Develop/manage the departmental plan and budget to ensure effective use of corporate funds and compliance with budget targets and outsource vendor contract terms and conditions
Manage intake and demand, coordinating testing resources;identify and source appropriate resources across all work streams, ensure all resources are used effectively
Participate in audit reviews of test artifacts

Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate.
Graduate Degree preferred.
7+ years relevant experience.

Ability to manage multiple testing teams for functions/projects with increasing degree of complexity and broad scope (e.g. multi-function within line of business, tier 2-5 projects).

Strong knowledge in project financial management and reporting.

Reporting into the Senior Manager of the Release Management and Governance Operations Shared Service (OSS) team.
Accountable for management of the overall team providing both leadership and technical guidance; set targets and objectives for the team, and deliver results
Grow team expertise to align with enterprise demand and the Bank's business / technology direction; assess team skills and capabilities and continually look for ways to provide and enhance the value delivered
