Community Banking Self-Assurance Monitoring is a front line team responsible for developing and supporting Front Line monitoring programs to provide self-assurance for business processes including a focus on emerging risks. EGS Risk Services supports the Front Line Risk groups through global talent strategy and by building global delivery risk management capabilities.
This Operational Risk Supervisor position is within the Self-Assurance Monitoring Support team located at the EGS Chennai location. The incumbent is responsible for supervising the implementation execution and monitoring of risk-based programs within the Community Banking Self-Assurance Monitoring and Inspection for Branch Control Reviews Quality Assessment, Notary reviews, Next Day Item reviews, and other monitoring and review requests to enable risk mitigation across Community Banking.
Key Responsibilities of the Self-Assurance Monitoring team include:
Develop and execute front line risk monitoring, including self-assurance activities.
Collaborate and coordinate with business SAA teams to identify, determine ownership and develop SAAs in response to business process mapping.
Ensure assessment of controls identified through BPM process.
Implement and execute a process to complete discovery and research on SAAs exceeding thresholds, ensuring documentation of results and recommendations to address findings.
Collect and aggregate SAA reporting for Regional Banking and present to risk committee.
Evaluate monitoring and quality assurance results to identify and escalate issues and corrective actions through partnership with compliance, operational risk, business self-assurance teams, and subject matter experts.
Perform BCR workpaper quality assessment, and provide periodic reporting to stakeholders and management to address trends and quality concerns.
Key responsibilities for this position within the SAM team include:
Building, leading, developing, and engaging a team of operational and compliance risk professionals.
Monitoring of program, including performance triggers, measurement of initiatives and program effectiveness of team of Operational Risk Consultants (ORC's).
Conducting independent and objective supervision within ensuring compliance and operational behaviors, activities, and practices are followed while providing guidance, consultation, and advice on performance trends, triggers and results, including direction, leadership, guidance to ensure successful implementation and execution.
Lead a team of professionals in executing key operational objectives throughout the group and develop resource plans to determine required budget and staffing to fulfill the group's responsibility.
Ensuring assigned ORC team members are completing work accurately and timely.
Creates and maintains processes and procedures, including maintaining tools, templates and other monitoring materials
Collects data and completes reporting of results, including compiling themes to identify areas of opportunity and facilitate the identification and escalation of potential issues
Develops schedules and collaborates with team members to balance work load ensuring continuous information sharing and knowledge transfer
Market Skills and Certifications
5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), business process management, or financial services, demonstrated through work or military; or
A BS/BA degree or higher in business or a related field
3+ years of people management experience.
