We have an exciting opportunity for a Special Assistant to join our Investment Management Division (IMD) supporting our Senior Vice President and CIO. In pursuit of patient care and scientific research, our team manages long-term investment assets in excess of $5 billion. The Manager, Investment Administration will fully support the Chief Investment Officer and take responsibility for coordinating the implementation of the IMDs investment process, developing and implementing programs, providing oversight and monitoring across the IMD. AS THE SPECIAL ASSISTANT AKA 'CHIEF OF STAFF' YOU WILL: - Have duties falling under three categories: general office management, high-level administrative work, and project management. Managing the CIOs office involves overseeing and coordinating workflow, ensuring smooth operations within the office, and coordinating projects assigned to other Investment staff
- Act as CIOs interface with the outside world: manage their responsibilities, ensuring they are fulfilling obligations and focused on the highest impact projects
- Ensure alignment with institutional goals and act as a sounding board to the CIO on all business and investment matters, representing the Chief Investment Officer both within IMD and across MSK.
- Help identify, develop, and prioritize new and ongoing administrative initiatives, leading implementation of such initiatives and ensuring that all workflows within the IMD are optimally executed.
- Provide strategic, analytical, and informational support for the evaluation, resolution, and improvement of organizational issues across investment, operations and business divisions.
- Lead all aspects of day-to-day planning and execution associated with investment monitoring and evaluation, facilitating alignment, progress, and communication by engaging multiple internal and external partners.
- Work closely with the CIO, both taking direction on projects and also identifying organization-wide initiatives and leading them from idea generation through implementation.
- Provide superior support capabilities, using independent judgment to review documentation, process expenses, coordinate travel and maintain calendars & contacts, etc.
- Assist with meeting management by researching attendees in advance and representing IMD to them.
- Draft, proofread and edit CIO communications;
- Manage research/administrative personnel and handle our budget; and,
- Represents IMD to a discerning array of constituents, including external investment managers, MSK Executive Leadership and members of the Boards of Overseers and Managers.
AS A CANDIDATE, YOU : - Have a Bachelors Degree and 8-10+ years experience supporting C-Level Executives
- Are experienced in working in Investment Management
- Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to absorb technical information
- Ability to prioritize what is most important and excellent organizational skills
- A comfort level communicating both verbally and in writing with senior executives
- The ability to influence peers and other management without relying on formal authority
- Ask, listen, decide, and follow through
- Are willing to contribute at any level
