Position Summary: The Director will be responsible for the development, implementation and on-going operations of project management and Value Analysis support for the UC Health Transformation team focusing on systemwide operations. Core aspects of this effort include: (i) project management support for systemwide operational initiatives (e.g. supply chain strategic sourcing initiatives); (ii) management oversight and coordination support for Value Analysis teams - this will include teams focused on making changes to clinical practice; (iii) development, implementation and on-going support of a project management process, tool and dashboard for systemwide Transformation initiatives; (iv) system wide liaison between UC Health medical centers' operational and clinical staff and UC Health in the coordination and execution of UC Health Transformation initiatives.
Overall Responsibility: The Director, Project Management and Value Analysis Support - under the strategic direction of the Chief Procurement Officer-- will oversee the operations of the following areas:
a. Project Management- provides project management support and oversight for systemwide Transformation initiatives that will track initiatives from inception to completion, coordinate required resources, establish critical milestone or objectives, address and minimize obstacles, provide regular project updates and ensure timely completion.
b. Value Analysis - collaborates with the clinical and strategic sourcing teams to establish appropriate Value Analysis teams for system wide initiatives, coordinates the membership of the teams, in collaboration with the sourcing teams establishes goals and objectives and project plan and timelines while ensuring timely completion, and serves as liaison between UC Health and local medical centers in the resolution of barriers or obstacles.
c. Project Management and Value Analysis Staff - directs staff by providing direct supervision and coordination of work assignments.
Reporting Responsibility: Reports directly to the UC Health Chief Procurement Officer.
This position will be based out of UCLA Medical Center.

Working with stakeholders at the UC Health medical centers and in conjunction with the strategic sourcing team and Chief Procurement Officer, identifies and implements project management processes and tools to manage system wide strategic sourcing initiatives. Utilizing identified project management tools, maintains information regarding the progress of all system wide initiatives.
Job Requirements Advanced degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Position requires interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels.
Advanced knowledge of the functional area, projects, programs, research and issues in support of the function, program and / or organizational unit or initiative.
Ability to multi-task, use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations.
At least five to ten years of project management and/or value analysis experience, preferably working in a hospital operational management environment or in the health care industry.
Knowledge of the issues and challenges facing healthcare supply chain management and strategic sourcing.
Experience working in an environment with changing priorities and demands, diverse and differing goals and objectives, and highly passionate individuals in order to establish and execute system wide efforts.
Working experience in leading and advising cross-organization workgroups, preferably in a large health care integrated delivery network.
Proven customer service and interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate work with other, both internally and externally, to accomplish tasks.
Proven ability to manage, prepare and administer projects in a complex organization while ensuring successful and timely completion.
Sound strategic thinking and consulting skills in guiding towards workable strategies and operational solutions.
Excellent organizational skills, including meeting facilitation and decision making and demonstrated ability to keep very diverse groups on task.
Ability to establish priorities and allocate resources among those priorities and achieve results in a multi-mission, multi-unit, multi-site organization.
Excellent communication and team building skills; experience with communications at all organization levels from strategic leadership to support functions; ability to present complex in a manner that is accessible to a variety of audiences.
A high level of emotional intelligence; must have the capacity to be aware of, control, and appropriately express emotions, and handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.
