Position Summary Provide leadership, direction, and management for the college wide technical project teams and oversees and manages the principal systems administration and systems security functions in the enterprise hardware and software systems, including (but not limited to) Oracle, Microsoft, Linux and network environments.
The work schedule for this position is flexible and will include working evenings and weekends and local travel.
Duties and Responsibilities The incumbent will be responsible for direction and the operational activities of:
Enterprise hardware and software systems architecture
Project and budget management
Designing, implementing and enforcing systems security strategies
Managing systems administrators for the Microsoft, Linux, database and network platforms (including security administration, clustering and high availability, backups, load balancing, storage area networks, virtual environment, cloud migration, routing and switching, DNS, Firewalls)
Enterprise-wide endpoint and mobile device management using tools including SCCM and JAMF.
Managing high-level technical staff that resolve escalated issues from the service desk
Performing needs assessments and analysis; recommending or developing system improvements
Preparing and/or participating in technical proposals and RFPs
Researching, recommending and implementing new technology
Recommending the purchase of equipment, services and supplies; managing relationships with vendors and consultants
Leading and directing all aspects of Infrastructure Services to meet the needs of the College community. Collaborating with senior leadership, external vendors and technical staff to develop effective, secure and timely services.
Developing technology strategy to support the college's overall strategy/vision
Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing with a strong ability to communicate to a non-technical audience
Bachelor's degree in a related field and
Four years of progressively responsible professional level IT experience and
Three years supervisory experience
Candidates who possess similar minimum objective qualifications should describe in detail the education and work experience you regard as establishing the equivalency.
The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Enterprise wide systems and application integration, both technical and business function expertise.
Current principles and applications in information technology
Systems analysis and systems administration principles, security administration, multiple hardware and operating system platforms (including Linux and Microsoft)
Strong understanding of identity and access management.
Leading configuration and change management best practice implementation
Modern system deployment technologies
NIST cybersecurity framework and compliance concepts.
Virtualization and cloud computing strategies and security.
Systems performance, tuning and testing methodologies.
Leadership and project management principles
Familiarity with contract language and purchasing, and the applicable regulations and statutes
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning
Personnel supervision, employee development and mentoring, performance management, and conflict resolution/mediation
Building and maintaining a departmental budget
