The Warehouse Lead reports to the Steer Smarts Supply Chain Manager. They are responsible for managing all aspects the Michigan Steer Smarts warehouse.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Insure a safe environment
Control and Manage Inventory
Kit products for shipment
Coordinate shipping of incoming and outgoing goods
Supervise warehouse employees when hired
SPECIFIC WAREHOUSING ACTIVITIES:
Receive incoming material, weigh count, barcode and enter into inventory
Responsible for pulling inventory for Kitting prep, pre-fabrication, and staging on project pallets
Ship outgoing material, weigh count and remove from inventory
Regularly inspect condition of tools and equipment (ie: forklift, scales, etc.)
Insure security of warehouse
Guarantee integrity of inventory through periodic cycle count audits
Communicate with drivers to ensure efficient delivery of products
Regular written communication with Supply Chain Manager
Participate in management reviews

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma/GED
2+ years’ experience in a warehouse supervisory role
Proven knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to work with all levels of staff
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to drive a forklift, load and unload trucks
- Requires the ability to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Requires the ability to squat occasionally
- Requires the ability to use ladders up to 20 feet
- Requires the ability to operate warehouse machinery
- Requires the ability to stand 8 hours
