Pharmacists successfully completing a combined PGY-1 Pharmacy & PGY-2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership with Masters Residency at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota will be capable of assuming high level managerial, supervisory and leadership pharmacy positions. In addition to completing Mayo Clinic’s renowned PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency that has been in place since 1972, the PGY-2 year of the combined HSPA-MS program focuses on a host of required administrative learning experiences, including: Cancer Care, Clinical Operations, Health System Operations, Informatics, Inpatient Operations, MTM/Ambulatory Care Operations, Outpatient/Specialty Pharmacy Operations, Quality and Compliance, Senior Leadership, and Supply Chain Management. Each resident is also be enrolled in ASHP Foundation’s Pharmacy Leadership Academy in addition to selecting one of 5 schools offering 6 different online Master’s programs. Throughout the 2-year commitment, the PGY1 and PGY2 resident has nearly unlimited electives to choose from in addition to completion of a host of longitudinal experiences, each tailored to the residents interests. Research project and online staffing required. Benefits include a competitive vacation package, professional leave days, medical and life insurance, dental/vision reimbursement, and up to $2500 research allowance per year. Relocation assistance ($500) is available. Stipend is $48,000 for PGY-1 and $51,000 for PGY-2 residents. Costs associated with Master’s degree tuition are covered by the residency program.
