Rockwell Automation is looking for an exceptional leader to manage a team of highly productive embedded software engineers in the development and enhancement of our embedded analytic products. This outstanding team uses a Lean Agile development process to develop innovative products that collect data from automation devices and controllers, apply patented and unique analytics, and provide customers with actionable information.
You will see and learn all functional aspects of product development and sustaining engineering, and have the ability to make major impacts on product developments, collaborating with leadership across Engineering, Product Management, Business, Quality, and Operations. Act as the technical lead for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of a hardware / software system and provide technical coordination and guidance for your team in the areas of architecture, design and mitigation of quality issues.
Directly manage a team of embedded software engineers by providing for their continued development, guidance, motivation, and performance management. Encourage a positive work environment to foster outstanding performance. Develop the team and assist them with goal setting and achievement.
Ability and desire to take a couple of user stories from the Kanban and work alongside the team to implement features or close anomalies
Collaborate with other engineering managers and team leads in CVB working on related products to promote engineering efficiency, re-use, co-innovation, and integration of software functionality.
Support and foster the lean agile development environment the team uses, while ensuring product development activities comply with corporate and business level processes and procedures.
Help your team eliminate non-value add work by leading improvement activities in design capabilities and processes so your team is best in class in creating quality designs and in development execution.
Be relentless in your pursuit of creating quality designs and high quality software delivered and tested right the first time.
Work with the Product Owner to develop overall project scheduling and goal setting for the team, and provide resource plans and estimates.
