Smith County Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time surgery supervisor. Applicant must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Kansas State Board of Nursing license. Must have a thorough knowledge of AORN rules and regulations. S/he should have knowledge and experience to ensure perioperative care and stay up-to-date on best practices. A successful candidate will have experience in principles, methods and techniques involved in performing surgical procedures and sterilizing equipment. S/he will provide a safe environment for patients and encourage a culture of safety. Primary surgical procedures include endoscopy, pain management and OB coverage.
Supervisor must work well with medical staff and contracted providers. A successful candidate must have leadership skills to build and grow a team while working side-by-side with surgical nursing staff. The supervisor will oversee training, orientation and continuing education for team. Requires at least two years of management experience. Preferred experience with budget, supply chain, policy and procedure, scheduling and equipment management. Supervisor will share every other weekend call with additional staff.
SCMH is a 16-bed critical access hospital with an attached rural health clinic. Medical staff includes four board-certified family medicine physicians and four nurse practitioners.
