We are seeking a Wireless Network Engineer who understands the critical value that prepares data providers for next-generation analytics. We support the work of Wireless Network of MSK by managing the full development life cycle of complex projects requiring integration to other systems including analysis, design, programming, implementation and support. You will exponentially reduce the time-to-insight for healthcare professionals, researchers, and the advanced analytics teams providing innovative, outstanding solutions.
Provide advanced-level network design work, implementation, documentation, and solving issues with particular focus on wireless network access connectivity for medical equipment end-point devices.
Provide network services support at an advanced level to Biomedical & Radiological engineers by providing Wi-Fi connections for critical medical equipment to the company network.
Wireless network engineers design, implement, and optimize a company's wireless LAN and other wireless technologies such as cellular, Wi-Fi, Telemetry, RFID and infrared.
Provide design and product recommendations and configurations.
Resolve network problems through research, network installation and customization, network administration and network management support.
Require mastery-level skills and experience in the use of a spectrum monitor to facilitate the identification and removal of illegal or unlicensed interference signals while monitoring the spectrum on a continual basis so problem signals can be identified as they occur in real time.
Fine-tune existing wireless networks by adjusting RF settings, Client Matching, band steering and adjusting/changing areas of the network to provide efficient wireless solutions for many critical aspects in a medical & research institution.
Acts as domain expert on network design and configuration.
Require experience in Wireless Lan Controller configurations, troubleshooting and LAN/WAN networking reported problems.
Performs network and hardware and software maintenance including but not limited to code upgrades and security patches.
Work with vendors, auditors, and Information Security teams to ensure security is maintained and coordinated into all network connectivity activities.
Produces and interprets network security analysis reports, accurately maintains security design documentation and information.
Engineers should be aware of the latest products, services, IEEE standards, protocols, and developments of the networking industry. .
Work 8:00AM-4:00PM, Monday-Friday.
BA or BS degree, or equivalent knowledge. Engineering or Computer Science major preferred.
Minimum three years hands-on experience in a Networking/Data Communications environment.
Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi protocols such as; 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, VoIP, Radius Authentication, Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, LAN/WAN infrastructures, and protocols BGP, EIGRP, OSPF.
