Department: Facilities Mgmt EV Salary/Grade: EXS/8 Job Summary: Trains and directs Facilities warehouse personnel in the management and maintenance of Northwestern University inventories and the delivery of excellent service to the department’s internal customers. This is all managed within specified productivity, cost, and quality standards. Leads and controls activities of warehouse personnel. Ensures shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution are performed in an efficient manner. Takes precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss. Retains, reviews, and acts upon warehouse management reports as needed. Specific Responsibilities: - Reviews orders and coordinates, prioritizes, assigns and monitors daily work for Warehouse Associates to meet operation’s needs.
- Designs and implements work methods and procedures to increase productivity and improve service within the department.
- Motivates associates to ensure that predetermined productivity, cost, and quality standards are achieved or exceeded.
- Promotes the employee relations policies, safety and health requirements in the warehouse area.
- Trains new Warehouse Associates.
- Prepares and submits daily, weekly, monthly reporting and analysis.
- Collaborates with vendors, operations and procurement to troubleshoot issues and ensure supply chain efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as Supply chain management, logistics, business administration or a related field.; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Ability to manage people effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
- 4 years of inventory, supply chain &/or warehousing or other relevant experience.
- Specific jobs that could prepare an individual for this job includework managing or supervising in a production environment; Operations Scheduler; Merchandise Coordinator, Loss Prevention Supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in warehouse layout design
- Experience in physical inventory
- Managed staff of 2 or more
- Experience or certification in Lean and or Six Sigma
