Incumbent will be responsible for the classroom preparation, instruction, and evaluation of student learning for 16 credits of courses/per semester in the Construction Electrician program. Instruction is delivered in the classroom. Candidates may also engage in such activities as student advising, committee assignments, classroom research and community service as part of the overall work assignment on a proportional basis. Candidate should possess good communication, listening, and human relations skills.
Education: Two-year diploma in an electrician program or completion of a registered electrician apprenticeship program.
Occupational Experience:Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience as a licensed electrician in residential and commercial.
Recency: One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Professional: State of Minnesota Master Electrician License.
Industrial and commercial wiring experience.
PLC experience and data networking - structured wiring.
Knowledge of electronic circuitry.
Experience with electrical energy systems or precision agriculture or manufacturing industry sectors.
Iowa Master Electrician License or ability to obtain one.
Classroom and online teaching experience.
Good communication, listening, and human relations skills.
Multilingual or multicultural background or experience working with diverse populations a plus.
