BCTC is currently hiring embedded tutors for the BCTC ASSET (Achieving Student Success with Embedded Tutoring) Program. Embedded tutoring places tutors in the classroom/lab under the instructor's guidance during scheduled class sessions and in one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions outside of the classroom. This provides students with individualized assistance and support as well as enhances student engagement.

The embedded tutor will:
Attend and complete embedded tutor trainings
Attend planning meetings with the course instructor
Establish contact with students early in the semester
Work according to instructor guidance to provide support for students. For example:
Help facilitate small group exercises or discussions
Assist students in learning how to effectively utilize course technology
Schedule and facilitate tutoring sessions with students who require additional support
Serve as a contact between instructor and students
Help students foster connections with the Tutoring Center and other support services
Maintain accurate record of tutoring activities
Other job duties as assigned
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
High school diploma/GED
Successful completion of the specific course or other courses in the subject, as defined by the area coordinator, with an A, and/or recommendation by a faculty member
Overall GPA of 3.0 or better
Excellent communication skills
Good organizational skills
Proficient in navigating college-level and course-level technology
