Rail Fleet Manager (2000089) - Florham Park (preferred) or at a major BASF site (Freeport, Geismar, Wyandotte, etc.)
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to manage the company owned and leased railcar fleet, including fleet size modeling and cross fleet utilization, maintenance and mechanical conversions, oversight of on-hire, off-hire, and cross fleet transfer activities. You will provide premium customer service to BASF sites and business units by acting as the rail fleet liaison, and be responsible for continuous improvement and performance optimization. You will also manage our Rail Logistics Provider (performance, strategy, improvements) and BASF's Rail Maintenance program and budget. Lastly, you will lead the Digital Solutions implementation for Fleet Management and represent BASF at the American chemistry Council in Rail Regulatory topics.
This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your experience with fleet sizing, modeling, and asset maintenance. We will also look for you to contribute your strong analytical skillset, ability to summarize issues and explain Supply Chain concepts to non-Supply Chain colleagues and customers. Although not required, Lean Six Sigma experience will be a valued asset.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

* Leveraging your Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Information Technology and your rail fleet management experience, you will perform assets management activities (maintenance, specifications definitions).
* Demonstrating your strong leadership skills (including communication, collaboration, negotiation, presentation, etc.), you will interact with business units.
* Your demonstrated entrepreneurial skill set obtained through relevant experience and your self-motivated work style will be essential as you manage a third-party provider.
* Utilizing your strong project management skills with the ability to drive change, you will spearhead companywide initiatives.
* Your ability to set priorities and make independent decisions will be a valued asset as you work under deadlines to develop and deliver Sr. Management status reports.
