Job Summary The Office of Information Technology is seeking candidates for the Information Technology Specialist V/VI position of Systems Engineer in the Microsoft Server Support Group. This position reports to the Manager of the Microsoft Server Support Group.
Essential Functions Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
Create a strategy for establishing a secure and well-managed enterprise environment in Azure
Automating common tasks using PowerShell
Maintain server monitoring, updating, and vulnerability scanning
Migration of workloads into Azure including IAAS, PAAS, and SAAS
Leads both complex and routine projects and frequently interfaces with constituents, including management and/or internal teams to ensure quality, timeliness, and testing of all project/release work
Participates in the definition, coordination and support of OIT’s Microsoft solutions
Leads technology strategy while maintaining detailed knowledge of the current technologies and infrastructure
Maintains a thorough understanding of group service offerings and billing rates while working directly with customers and OIT accounting staff
Maintains internal and external customer relationships in support of the group’s service catalog
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Information Technology or related field
4 Years of Experience
Experience with Microsoft systems and administration
Must have knowledge of the specification, planning, development, provisioning and management of Microsoft Servers and Azure Services.
Must have knowledge of information technology principles and applications, IT system management methodologies, and new technologies.
Requirements for Additional Job Levels Level V requires 4 years of experience in Microsoft systems and administration. Typical salaries at this level are between $64K and $75K.
The senior level requires a Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field and seven (7) or more years of experience in Microsoft systems and administration. Starting salaries are typically between $73K and $85K.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems in physical and virtual environments
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune and Endpoint Manager
Knowledge of Virtual Machine Provisioning, Management and Backup
Knowledge of TCP/IP communication protocols, networking, common service ports, and best security practices
Experience with Amazon Web Services
Experience with Hyper-V
Knowledge of multifactor authentication integration
