Engineering Manager is charged with efficient assignment of software and firmware engineers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software and embedded software products. To succeed in this role, he/she must develop and maintain a trained, capable staff assigned to the appropriate projects selected according to communicated business priorities. Planning horizon for this role usually extends to 3-5 years and requires competency suitable for constructing relevant team development strategy.
Engineering Manager leads adoption and continued improvement in definition, development, maintenance and institutionalization of standard engineering practices. Mentors senior engineering personnel toward success in product design, development and test, particularly in relation to understanding of objectives specified by product management, architecture, and customer support. Simultaneously Engineering Manager identifies and develops leaders in order to support his group and provide organizational structure required to achieve business goals.
Successful incumbent will have a privilege to manage development teams of size from 30 to 50 engineers. There is immediate need to manage Logix Designer and Emulate development teams. However, rapid growth of S/W team within KCE CVB Campus may also create interesting opportunities in S/W COMMs COE, Pharma Suite or Raider RA product spaces.
