The Mittler and Fritschi Labs at the The Division of Plant Sciences, University of Missouri, Columbia MO, are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Stress Combination and Precision Agriculture.
Function: Perform systems biology, physiology and aerial imaging research on field-grown plants subjected to abiotic stress combination.
Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to using molecular, biochemical, metabolic and physiology tools, coupled with proximal imaging, to study the response and acclimation of crop plants grown in the field to conditions of abiotic stress combination. Off-season studies will include greenhouse and growth chamber experiments. Background in bioinformatics analyses and integration of different omics platforms are preferred but not required. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to work closely with other lab members to acquire additional types of data and validate computational findings.
This position requires a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Agriculture, Plant Sciences, or a related field. US citizenship is not required. Basic programming skills and prior experience in machine learning are preferred but not required. The position is funded for three years with the second and third year contingent upon success in the prior year.
