The development and oversight of management processes for data related to all areas within service line and to facilitate operational and research needs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establishes and enforces data warehousing standards to support operational reporting and research.
Participate in design for reports, interfaces and functional dashboards based on business.
Assist with the changing of existing data warehouse and data mart models or development of new models to support new or expanded data content.
Work with the business and clinicians, IT staff and team members to understand business processes and use this knowledge to translate into a design and requirements, and the development and implementation of solutions.
Determine report strategy, participate on team to select tools and techniques, including data cleansing tools, data naming standards and/or data management systems to provide the solution to data and issues or other matters of significance to meet the defined business needs.
Develop reports/dashboards and train others on the use of a specific analytics platforms (i.e. Tableau, PowerChart analytics, Alteryx, etc.)
Develop dashboards and scorecards using advanced visualization techniques and data capabilities such as embedding analytics in clinical and business process tools or designing dashboards tailored to strategic goals
Maintain effective relationships in order to provide a climate receptive to systems improvement and to enhance understanding of the business concerns and needs. Participate on project teams, assisting to leverage the enterprise data warehouse and data sources.
Develop solutions to address data quality issues.
Estimate time and cost to develop reports and other data related solutions.
Recommend improvement in processes and procedures.
Understand and adhere to all research data management procedures.
Maintain expertise in data warehouse tools and technologies.
Maintain and develop knowledge of the various subject areas and the sources of information contained in the subject areas.
Looks for opportunities to improve the utilization of data in the various data subject areas.
Develop and maintain knowledge and application of Data Warehouse and Data Reporting Best Practices and Standards.
Conducts research into new data that is currently not in the data warehouse and recommends changes for data warehouse adoption.
Assists in defining overall data architecture of the data warehouse.
Documents tasks for end-user, technical, and managerial review to ensure high quality customer service.
Resolves problems, makes effective modifications, and provides ongoing support to production systems.
Create and maintain data loading processes and address related data integrity issues
Provide ad hoc reports as directed
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Performs other related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Information Technology with a minimum of three years' experience in Data Warehousing. Experience with RDBMS tools and working with clinical databases preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Proficient in data warehouse tools and technologies including Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Analysis Services. Knowledge and experience with information processing principles and practices including testing and source control.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Tableau, and Minitab. Working knowledge of applicable data privacy practice and laws. An excellent understanding of relational databases is required.
Demonstrated use of ETL tools. Ability to apply knowledge of database design and modeling principles. Strong analysis and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent oral and written communication. Strong interpersonal and consulting skills. Ability to gather business requirements. Solid technical support documentation skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to work with individuals as well as have a commitment to organizational goals.
