Position Summary: The position is principally responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining servers, storage systems, workstations and other computer systems that comprise the IT infrastructure supporting university IT services. The position supports both physical, virtual and cloud based computer systems in a multi-platform environment and works collaboratively with a wide range of business, technical and IT service staff. The position exhibits good problem-solving ability and resourcefulness and is competent to work on fairly complex systems administration initiatives with only general supervision.
Prerequisite Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. 2. A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in systems and applications administration. 3. Proficiency in Windows systems and windows scripting and/or proficiency in Unix/Linux systems and Unix/Linux scripting; 4. Strong grasp of networking fundamentals. 5. Excellent oral and written communication skills 6. Experience with change control in an ITIL structure.
