Position Summary: Under general direction, the position is principally responsible for regularly ensuring the efficacy of AV and IT services delivered to and in support of university-wide learning spaces, student computer labs, student printing locations, and other general-purpose instructional facilities. As the primary advocate for users of these facilities, the position works closely with faculty, staff, and students across multiple stakeholder units, and also reviews these facilities from a Quality of Life (QOL) perspective. The position is expected to exhibit a high level of creative problem solving ability, quick-thinking and resourcefulness and is competent to work multiple assignments to completion concurrently. All work performed in support of these responsibilities is documented appropriately using the university’s ITSM suite. The position is required to be an AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or successfully achieve the same within one year of hire. Due to the limited and varying availability of instructional facilities during the university’s normal business hours, a flex shift is required for this position. Shifts are to be determined on a semesterly basis and will include weekends, nights, and/or early mornings as needed. When working outside of normal university business hours, the position works independently with no on-site supervision.
Prerequisite Qualifications: ? A Bachelor's degree in communications, engineering, information technology or instructional technology related field ? 2 years IT or AV support experience in an education environment ? A current AVIXA CTS, or successful completion within 1 year of hire ? Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills including the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of customers including faculty, students, staff, high profile and non-technical clientele, and a commitment to provide operational and technical support in an educational environment. ? Technical proficiency for usage, maintenance, repair and operation of various audio and video equipment used in support of classroom instruction. ? Strong oral and written communication skills
