POSITION TITLE: Director of Business Solutions and Partnerships
DEPARTMENT: Economic and Business Development
REPORTS TO: Department Head
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Associate Director(s), support staff, consultants, instructors, as well as others associated with training, professional development, and community education offerings.
STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Director of Business Solutions and Partnerships provides leadership, supervision, strategic vision, and budget oversight to the Economic and Business Development area. The Director is responsible for, but not limited to, developing and managing external relations with businesses and industry councils and managing the corporate training and community education/professional development offerings. The Director also develops and manages focused noncredit to credit and transition projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership, strategic development, and coordination for all organizational and administrative operations related to business development and recruitment, professional development/community education, corporate programs, and industry related initiatives.
Engage with regional business and community organizations for business recruitment, relationship building, and connections to academic, professional development, and community education offerings.
Assist in development of customized, corporate/industry training programs, Workforce Training Fund Program projects, industry and educational grant funded programs, and workplace literacy programs in coordination with the Adult Education area.
Develop processes for non-credit to credit bridging at Bristol through coordination and collaboration with Academic Affairs and Student Services and Enrollment Management areas, including
Participate in convene and host industry events and forums to reflect Bristol's leadership in economic and business development.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive strategic and communications plan including outreach, marketing, and social media, utilizing tools such as but not limited to LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and
Prepare the annual budget and provide oversight of all expenditures; identify, secure, and manage grant funding for Economic and Business Development and Bristol programs.
Hire, supervise, develop, and lead all corporate and community education/professional development staff, as assigned; work closely with Human Resources to develop staff capabilities and expectations.
Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that supports the professional growth of staff while fostering a commitment to service excellence and focusing on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda.
Support the offshore wind initiatives and the National Offshore Wind Institute; develop complementary programs around health, safety, and the environment.
Assess local labor market information and community and private sector needs to develop programmatic content for Bristol's professional development and community education programs.
Assess instructional methodologies, student services, student engagement strategies, and program delivery options (such as face-to-face, hybrid, online) to meet student needs.
Ensure programs are in compliance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and in collaboration with the workforce organizations such as MassHire Workforce Boards and Career Centers.
Serve on appropriate college councils/committees, attend meetings, and represent the college externally as appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in business, public affairs/administration, or other related field.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in business and economic development, with substantial experience in higher education, non-profit organizations, public/municipal organizations, or private corporations.
Demonstrated experience working with industry-related organizations in sectors such as, but not limited to, life sciences, medical devices/biomedical, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, health care, and offshore wind.
Demonstrated ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders, businesses, and external funding sources to secure financial resources, as well as experience overseeing comprehensive projects.
Demonstrated supervision experience of team projects.
Demonstrated professional-level verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated experience with complex budgets that include planning, fundraising, management, and budget forecasting as well as experience with grant development at federal, state, and local levels, as well as experience developing other external financial resources.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Demonstrated experience implementing communication and outreach programs including marketing, social media, and web development.
Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvements through assessments, surveys, and other qualitative and quantitative approaches.
Robust understanding and demonstrated inclusion of access, equity and student success practices.
Reliable transportation in order to travel to and from meetings, trainings, or campus and community locations as required.
The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
Minimum of a Master's degree in business administration, public affairs/administration, or a related field.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in economic and business development.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience working with the offshore wind industry sector.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with high-level executive and business groups in recruitment, financing, and development of small and large businesses with knowledge around business, workforce, and training needs.
Demonstrated experience working with GWO training providers, offshore wind developers, supply chain companies and training providers, as well as state agencies such as the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center.
Direct experience working with, or demonstrated knowledge of, Southeastern Massachusetts, state, and global companies across industries.
Experience working with CRMs, electronic surveys, and other database integration systems.
The ability to speak a language in addition to English.

POSITION STATUS: This is a full-time, non-unit position with benefits, some nights and weekends required.
SALARY: Hiring salary $90,000 - $95,000, commensurate with education and experience.
