The University of California San Diego is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Athletics Business Operations Coordinator. UC San Diego Athletics is reclassifying to NCAA Division I as a member of the Big West Conference. UC San Diego won its eighth California Collegiate Athletic Association Commissioner's Cup title in 2018-19, an award symbolizing the best overall athletics department in the conference.
This position directly supports various athletic business functions. Responsible for coordinating the multi-faceted NCAA recruiting travel including official and unofficial visits to campus by prospective scholar-athletes as well as department professional travel. Responsible for the fiscal management of all athletics scholarship funds; Works with Compliance and Enrollment Management to communicate all scholarship selections including all donor and endowed scholarship funds, and ensure that the selected student meets various scholarship criteria. Responsible for transferring and reconciling funds. Performs administrative financial tasks associated with the effective operation of Athletics sponsored sport camps/clinics. Oversee preparation of cash deposits for ticket sales and camp revenues, and administer the department change fund. Analyze transactions to ensure proper distribution of income/expenses and assign account coding to deposits and travel reconciliations to assure that revenue and expenses are properly recorded in university ledgers and on the annual Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) report. Work with Compliance to ensure NCAA rules and campus travel policies are followed with regard to campus visits and scholarship distribution. Work closely with Housing Dining Hospitality Services for scholar-athlete pre-season and summer access housing. Stay abreast of NCAA rules as they pertain to pre-season and summer access housing.

General knowledge of accounting principles and practices, business math, and bookkeeping for budget planning, purchasing, reporting, and reconciliation.
Ability to accurately compile information and enter data for reporting purposes.

As of the end of the 16-17 academic year:
Triton teams have captured 30 national championships while 44 squads have finished as national runners-up and 49 others have achieved national third-place honors. All told, UC San Diego has won 251 national, regional and conference championships. UC San Diego student-athletes have won 138 individual national championships. A remarkable 1,309 Tritons have been named to All-America teams. UC San Diego student-athletes have excelled academically as well, earning 36 prestigious NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarships and 78 Academic All-America selections, including a program-high 10 over the 2015-16 campaign. Consistently, over 55 percent of student-athletes earn a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, placing them on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll. In 2016-17, UC San Diego posted a fourth-place finish out of 266 Division II schools in the Learfield Directors' Cup, an award emblematic of the best overall athletics department in the country. Since moving to the NCAA Division II level for the 2000-01 academic year, UCSD has placed in the top seven programs in the country on 12 different occasions and finished second overall twice. UC San Diego won its seventh California Collegiate Athletic Association Commissioner's Cup title in 2017, an award symbolizing the best overall athletics department in the prestigious conference.
