The Information Sciences Institute (ISI), part of the world-renowned Viterbi School of Engineering at USC, is home to nearly 250 researchers in a variety of fields, including intelligent systems and artificial intelligence, who carry out world-class research in a collaborative, academic environment. ISI scientists have the opportunity to spend the majority of their time doing the research they love. Projects are critically accelerated by research programmers and Ph.D. and M.S. students. USC operates one of the world's largest academic high-performance computing clusters. ISI has three research campuses: one in Marina Del Rey, CA; one in Arlington, VA; and one in Waltham, MA.

ISI is looking for highly talented, motivated researchers to lead and impact state-of-the-art research and development in the areas of programming abstractions, and safety, security, and privacy for performant cyber-physical systems; and integration of human logic & deep learning in cyber-physical contexts.Â
Research and development of leading-edge research topics in performant cyber-physical systems.Â
Actively publish research outcomes in premier conferences and journals
Evolve own research programs and develop and participate in developing research proposals to major funding agencies such as DARPA, IARPA, and NSF
Design, implement and deliver software systems to funding agencies and participate in large-scale research evaluation
Ph.D. in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering with emphasis on cyber-physical systems and cybersecurity networking
Record of publishing in premier conferences such as ACSAC, NDSS, IEEE S&P, USENIX Security
Solid Python and C++ programming background
Solid background on software development on Linux operating system and related tools, such as Emacs, GCC, etc
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Prior work on cyber-physical systems, IoT and cybersecurity and privacy
Prior work using deep learning in cyber-physical contexts
Familiarity with modern virtualization technologies
Experience with Amazon AWS
