The management team is seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Equipment Manager to join our Maintenance team. This full time Equipment Manager position is responsible for all maintenance programs pertaining to the equipment used by the golf course. This includes but is not limited to developing a preventative maintenance program built around factory recommended maintenance schedules, documenting/record keeping of all work performed on each piece of equipment, maintaining a well-stocked inventory of commonly used parts, ensuring all safety devices are in place and functioning properly and daily checks of equipment while in operation and on the course.
Fleet management knowledge using technology such as Fairway IQ or scanner- based RM software
Knowledge of small/large engine repair, reel maintenance, electrical & welding experience a plus.
In-depth computer skills, with the ability to keep up to date records of equipment serviced, inventory, etc.
At least 5 years of mechanic experience; proven experience providing golf course equipment repair and maintenance.
A team player that will work closely with the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents, and staff to assist in improving the overall productivity and quality of our maintenance operation.
Continually educating themselves on how to improve quality of our golf course operation and being able to identify problems or issues pertaining to the golf course.
Display a knowledge of hazards and safety standards of the profession in keeping a safe work environment for all employees.
Assist in training crew on using and safe operation of equipment.
Inspects, diagnosis and repairs equipment defects and failures of all maintenance equipment including diesel/gas/electric powered equipment, mowers, rollers, pumps, blowers, as well as many golf course- specific equipment.
Adjusting and sharpening reels and mower blades.
Daily inspection of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Setting up a preventive equipment maintenance plan to address any equipment needs before additional issues occur.
Checks and makes adjustments on the spot to equipment being used in the field.
Keeps a complete set of records including equipment service repairs, parts and inventory purchases, and preventative maintenance schedules.
Oversee the condition and appearance of the equipment, maintenance, and storage areas.
Involved in on course maintenance processes as directed by the Superintendent
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to function under pressure, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions.
Career oriented with strong commitment to the profession.
Excellent human relations skills with the ability to communicate respectfully with staff and management team.
Aid in recommending operating and capital equipment purchases to the Golf Course Superintendent.
Flexible schedule and hours.
Ability to train an assistant equipment technician.
Additional Salary Information: $45,000 base salary up to $65k (commensurate with experience and references) + bonus potential based on performance.
