Facility administrator. Provides leadership to create an atmosphere that provides continuity of quality patient care in the emergent micro-hospital environment. This is achieved by providing clear direction and expectations to the clinical and office staff regarding the functional areas in which they work. Supervises staff in a matrix relationship with other leaders (i.e. Imaging, etc.). Ensures all aspects of the hospital are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and compliance with licensing and accreditation standards. Directs and supervises staff as well as workflow. Position has budgetary or fiscal accountability. Responsible 24 hours a day for the ongoing effective operation of the facility exerting a leadership role which supports the organization's mission, vision, goals and objectives, while focusing on the patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and the community as customers. Ongoing accountability for the continuous assessment, improvement, coordination and integration of the department services and standards of care into the hospitalï¿½s primary function. Position is responsible for approving timekeeping, employee evaluations, approving supply orders and facility strategic planning.
Responsible for Budget preparation and adherence based on volume.
Responsible for Supply Chain Management for Department needs.
Monitor productivity/cost per unit of service on a regular basis to meet established budgetary guidelines. As necessary establish and implement action plans when variances occur.
Plans work assignments and resource allocation with full consideration of timeliness and financial impact.
Ensures charges are captured appropriately, ensures revenue cycle partners comply with all established policies, procedures and protocol in regard to the patient process, collections and customer service.
Support organization strategies to increase volumes.
Mentors and develops staff.
Execute organization's employee onboarding and performance management processes.
Hires, terminates, trains, evaluates performance and supervises staff to provide professional, courteous and timely services.
Review turnover trends and develop action plans to address unanticipated variances.
Promotes employee engagement thru staff participation in department operations and activities as measured thru employee engagement tools.
Appropriately manages staff to ensure compliance with applicable standards, adheres to organization's policies and procedures, including standards of behavior and safety guidelines.
Enhances communication between various levels of staff, departments and customers to promote a caring and respectful work environment.
Provides direction and delegation in a positive, professional manner and ensures follow-through.
Cultivates and promotes staff expertise and knowledge relevant to the needs of the specific environment.
Assists with the formation, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, and competencies.
Performs the necessary edits for Kronos time management system and payroll.
Works closely with Human Resources regarding employee related issues, training, and staff development initiatives.
Responsible for ensuring all functional areas are fully staffed with continuous coverage.
Travel to all facility locations as required.
Maintains and monitors TJC and other regulatory requirements. Assumes lead role during facility inspections by licensing and accrediting agencies.
Gathers and reports quality indicators generated by department activity.
Support organization strategies to meet core measure goals.
Develops and implements action plans to improve patient experience.
Engage physicians to promote physician's relations as measured by physician satisfaction survey.
Assists and/or promotes positive patient experience thru various stages of care as measured by patient satisfaction survey.
Develops and implements actions plans to improve the overall patient satisfaction scores.
Promotes excellence in patient experience.
Interacts effectively and efficiently with management and staff to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Assures proper function, maintenance and repair of all instrumentation and equipment, including repair records, service contracts, and preventive maintenance schedules.
Handles patient grievances with adherence to the organization's values and the principals of patient privacy and security of Protected Health Information (PHI).
Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS from the American Heart Association.
REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING:
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: ACLS, PALS from the American Heart Association.
SUPERVISES: Facility Staff.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Knowledge of TJC standards. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master's degree in Nursing.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3+ years supervisory experience in a healthcare setting, including at least 5 years nursing experience.
