Robotics engineers at Near Earth implement and deploy robotic systems for aerial mobility and inspection applications. As a generalist, you will be called upon to develop a variety of aspects of the system, with duties such as:
Implementing methods and algorithms in a variety of robotics domains
Perception -- processing data from sensors, including lidar and cameras, to provide useful information and situational awareness about the environment around autonomous aircraft
State estimation -- localization and mapping, SLAM, calibration, and relative navigation with and without GPS
Motion planning and control -- planning trajectories,
Supporting creation of system functional architectures based on user requirements, documenting system design
Creating test plans and conducting system testing, including hands-on work with robotic systems in field deployments
Presenting results to company staff and to customers

Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline (masters or higher preferred)
Skills and experience developing and adapting perception, motion planning, state estimation, or controls algorithms for robotic systems
Programming in C++ in Linux environment
Programming in the Robot Operating System (ROS) framework (preferred)
Lidar sensors, cameras, and inertial navigation systems
Software engineering practices and software development life cycle
Field testing of robotic systems
