The Role Responsibilities
RB has a very ambitious agenda. The landscape is changing rapidly with customers, incumbents and competitors driving immense changes. Global Growth Initiatives team - RB is focused on helping prepare for the future and drive ambitious growth in RB. The position reports into the Global Head Growth Initiatives - RB.
The Role is responsible for partnering with Group, Regional & Country RB leaders to identify & execute opportunities to position the RB for future industry shape and business models.
In context of the Group's commitment to thinking more 'exponentially' about its businesses and opportunities, this person will continuously and relentlessly think about the long-term health and position of the business, key success criteria, and what the business needs to be ready for. Key is to help the team manage short term and the long-term priorities, challenging conventional thinking, and designing bold solutions. The role will approach opportunities and problems with an 'anything is possible' mindset and should therefore be able to visualise across industry (Retail, Airlines, FMCG etc), business and functional boundaries.
The role will:
Help identify the future customers and RB industry landscape, business models (incumbents and Fintechs), and competitors and drive the thinking on SCB RB shape and business model
Help identify opportunities (incl organic, inorganic, partnerships & alliances) aligned with the priorities that need to be pursued
Help syndicate solutions with Group, Regional & Country RB Heads and secure commitment to execute
Work with cross-functional practitioners to drive execution. Ability to assemble and work with teams across RB and the broader Group is key
Create insights/KPI's to monitor & report on the execution
Enable global replication and scale successes where possible

Quickly test and learn from outcomes and iterate accordingly
Identify roadblocks, engage people to help clear the roadblocks and drive execution end to end: partner with practitioners and country/group teams to facilitate execution.
Identify metrics to track (KPIs): Develop appropriate metrics to measure execution and success. Identify data gaps and work with relevant teams to prioritize resolution.

Preparing the business for Open Banking
Enabling and supporting RB-WM initiatives and working closely with the WM team to shape and enable the future WM
Upgrading existing key businesses to put them on path to future success and relevance
Establishing internal and external transparency on performance of RB and enable better utilisation of resources (e.g. balance sheet, investments etc.)
Display awareness and understanding of the Operational Risk Framework for Retail Banking
Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating Operational Risks pertaining to process changes in Client Journeys
Ensure risk ratings for each process is within agreed thresholds
People and Talent
Lead by example and build the appropriate culture and values.
Lead, influence, and develop teams. Ability to assemble and work in a team with people outside the Global Initiatives team
Set appropriate tone and expectations for their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
Risk Management & Governance
Escalate any identified weaknesses across the end-to-end Group Retail Banking risk and control environment.

Our Ideal Candidate
MBA or similar post graduate degree from a high calibre institute is preferred.
5 to 10 years' experience in a senior corporate or consulting role. Commercial and implementation mindset and approach
Experience with digital, data driven new business models is preferred
Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
Energy and desire to succeed; follows through on commitments; pushes self and others to deliver exceptional results
Outstanding stakeholder management skills. A strong business partner who can influence and effectively challenge senior stakeholders.
Strong collaboration, consensus building, problem resolution and communication skills are a prerequisite
