Public Equity (EQ) The Public Equity (EQ) department pursues active management strategies in equity investing. We invest globally and are organised along product groups specialising in different total return, relative return and quantitative strategies. We are looking for an Analyst to join the Equities Department on a 2 yearscontract (with full employment terms & benefits). Strong performers will have the opportunity to be offered a permanent position at the end of the contract. The successful candidate would be an integral part of the Equities investment process. She/he would report to the Head of Research, Equity CIO's office and would be based in Singapore.
Be a key contributor to the team. This includes performing analysis on investment ideas with a focus on pharmaceuticals/healthcare equities, modelling financial statements and developing an investment thesis.
Conduct due diligence on portfolio companies or candidates (public and private), through corporate engagement, site visits, value-chain analysis, consultation with experts and other investors, meetings with suppliers, customers, competitors and on-the-ground data collection.
Research into stock ideas independently and make alpha-generating recommendations.
Understand and debate on stocks with the team and make portfolio decisions together with the rest of the team
Generate long-term global thematic ideas.
Collaborate well with colleagues from other teams in the Equities department and across GIC.
Candidates who are currently professionals in the pharmaceuticals/medical/healthcare industry, with a keen interest in investment, and would like to make a career switch will be actively considered.
Detailed knowledge of the pharmaceuticals/medical/healthcare sector and evidence of a strong desire to learn more about the sector's equity constituents.
Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
Clear analytical thought process.
Have the intellectual curiosity and drive to conduct deep-dive due diligence on portfolio stocks and candidates.
Strong team player.

Regular travel around the region is also expected.
