The Kellogg Eye Center seeks to improve lives through curing, preventing and treating eye disease. We are seeking a part-time software engineer/web developer to maintain a personalized glaucoma coaching program platform (www.glaucomaeyeguide.org), update the code as needed and work on ancillary software development projects. The web developer would function as part of a larger eHealth research team centered at the Kellogg Eye Center. The team focuses on leveraging technology to improve outcomes for people with glaucoma. Some of the team’s projects include developing and testing a personalized glaucoma coaching program supported by a web-based tool housed on the above-mentioned website and deploying telemedicine-based glaucoma screening program in community clinics in underserved communities.
Working with a research team to provide IT support to the research endeavor
Software engineering to improve the ehealth product
Working with collaborators in different departments
Communicating with the research team and collaborators in a timely fashion
Writing code that is HIPAA compliant
Working with other hardware and software engineers to complete ehealth improvement projects
The web developer/software engineer should be fluent in the following languages: Required:
Core language for website NodeJS/JAVA Script for backend framework, ReactJS for front end framework (HTML, CSS)
Linux server management, DOCKER
Modern Web Security Standards and Practices including two-factor authentication
Ability to work well as part of a larger team
Mongo DB/SQL database
Adobe CC/CS6 (Premiere and Photoshop)
I18-M, internationalization of applications
Collaborative and collegial, demonstrates integrity
Respectful and compassionate attitude
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
