Your role Your role will focus on helping our internal teams architect and develop solutions which meet business requirements to enhance applications across our entire estate. You will work closely with multiple stakeholders, including Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers and Testers across the whole project lifecycle. You will liaise closely with other team members and deliver high quality software.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing solutions that meet business requirements
Owning solutions from concept, to delivery, through to support
Working closely with multiple stakeholders across the project lifecycle
Liaising with Business Analysts to understand business requirements and with Solution Architects on function and technical designs
Supporting the Delivery Lead / Project Manager with scoping and estimation of development efforts
Working collaboratively with test teams during the Product test and UAT phases to fix assigned bugs
Developing specifications and detailed design documents
Coding, testing and debugging complex applications
Enforcing coding standards and performing code reviews
Ensuring quality of coded components by performing thorough unit testing
Working independently with limited support, while aligned to the weekly and daily agile governance
Guiding and mentoring team members
The role does not require any line management responsibility; but may require you to technically mentor more junior members of the team.

Your professional experience
Can-do, pragmatic, hands-on and innovative style of working
Solid experience of developing / programming
Dot net core, .NET (C#) and .NET framework application development experience
Experience working with business users/stakeholders to understand business problems, gather requirements and developing design documents including functional and technical specifications
Development of PAAS based solutions focusing specifically on Azure
Understanding of methodologies such as Agile and Scrum
Strong understanding of design patterns and SOLID principles
Demonstrated experience of integrating multiple complex systems, using a wide range of tools and techniques including the use of an enterprise service bus and messaging
Experience working as a developer or an application architect through system development, migrations, updates or implementations
Ability to perform code and design reviews
Demonstrated understanding of code analysis, code conversation and automated testing tools
Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written, including ability to articulate solutions to a senior as well as a detailed/technical audience
Strong team player
Experience working within software development or SaaS / cloud architecture groups
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies, learn quickly and pass on this knowledge onto other team members
Working knowledge of DevOps/Application Lifecycle Management tools, particularly Visual Studio Team Services and JIRA, automation and methodologies used to deploy solutions within a Cloud platform and on-premises
Coaching the team in to following best practices and new ways of working
Demonstrated ability of integrating large enterprise applications
You have worked as part of an agile development team and have used Visual Studio Team Services to manage development from end-to-end
Experience with DevOps
Experience with database design
Demonstrated understanding of tool based modernization, including code analysis, code conversion and automated testing tools
A strong desire to work hands-on with application code and perform deep levels of analysis and troubleshoot
You invest in your own develop by staying up to date on technology changes and have a broad awareness of wider technology trends
Understanding of security best practices and automating these standards as part of the release process
MSc in Computer Science or similar
